Why is Sunday more boring than the rest of the week?

Most people view Sundays as a day of rest. It is a time for one to stock up on energy in order to jumpstart the week. However, for most of the world, Sundays seem surprisingly dull when compared to regular weekdays. Then why does this day of rest become a day of boredom?

1. The End of Weekend Vibes
Sundays also mark the end of the weekend. That is when people become aware that the workweek lies ahead. After Friday night excitement and all fun-filled activities over the weekend, Sunday normally feels like a decline into responsibility. It’s a transition from pleasure to duty, and this can bring boredom because you then think about the week ahead.

A stronger cause as to why people might feel that Sundays are dull is because of anxiety or fear of the dawning Monday that one tends to associate with work or school. This is what is famously known as the “Sunday Scaries.” It then makes the day drag longer and, interestingly, turns out not that exciting.
